Vtg. Mother of Pearl CUFFLINKS gold tone, uniquely SWANKY HEXAGONAL shape Men’s jewelry for formal wedding, prom

$32.00

This hexagonal shape is rare in vintage Mother of Pearl cufflinks, and these have the added swank factor of crystal rhinestones centered in delicate golden filigree. What makes them ultra unique is that they are mismatched, and I have no idea why. One of them has more depth to the pearlescent tonality and the other is more of a satin tone. This makes me very curious about the history of this particular set of cufflinks, especially because that satin-finished one looks to have been repaired at some point (see last photo for detail). Were they somebody’s favorite cufflinks, maybe a gift from a very dear beloved, making them extra precious and worth fixing when one of them broke? Well the fix is solid and they should hold up for years to come. The only question remaining is whether you are, or he is, the kind of quirky rebel to rock a pair of mismatched, re-patched old cufflinks.

I myself might be smitten by such a fellow…

Measurement from flat edge to flat edge is 1”
No markings on them anywhere to indicate brand or metal composition.
They adhered weakly to a magnet so they are not solid gold, however, when I tested them for 18k gold, the mark on the pad did not dissolve in the acid as brass should. So they could possibly be gold-plated and just not marked, requiring an XRF machine to confirm. I also tested the stone and it is not diamond, but registers as possibly crystal rather than glass. They do have a bright, rainbow sparkle to them.

Anyway, the price reflects the repair history and lack of designer branding.
