This stunning mid century Chinese export piece features hand carved openwork/cage Nephrite Jade beads, large (3 cm) hand painted porcelain accent beads, and 3mm spacer beads which were carved from green chalcedony and then dyed black.
At 129 grams, this necklace feels luxurious and substantial when worn. It has been confirmed as natural stone (see microscope images) and it’s construction details are consistent with higher-end Chinese exports from the 1950s-1970s. It has clearly no visible wear, only natural imperfections and hue variations in the stones.
I am unable to find another necklace like this anywhere online. It stands out as truly unique and a statement necklace for sure.
